Amper Klub’s opening on the 7th of february will be with a densely packed hip-hop/funk event. In fact, the line-up is so strong, it will stretch out to the next day’s vinyl exchange at Nappali.
We will hosts events like this fairly regularly, in every two or three months, just to prove that the world doesn’t revolve around house music. The Soul on Wax party series will have an incarnation at Czinderi street and on the first act, the guest star will be none other than Marc Hype. Marc stood behind Technics players for the first time in 1988 and he has been playing ever since. He won the German DJ championship two times and in his sets he blends extremely professional turntable skills with his exquisite tase of hip hop, funk and unique bootlegs and mash-ups.
New York, Thailand, India or Hong Kong, this is just a small piece of his journies. As the ambassador of quality black music, he is travelling constantly. He is known for his mixtapes, his sets for which he only brings rare vinyls and his cooperation with Jim Dunloop could also ring a bell. Once before he was in Pécs too, two years ago, and everyone who was there will come to hear him again at Amer Klub, we are absolutely sure of it. As a bonus we add that Marc’s works are released at Europe’s coolest independent label, Melting Pot Music! And when he decides to make some beats, legendary rappers will lend their voices happily, such as Masta Ace or the Souls of Mischief.
With our German friend the Vinyl Warriorz crew will also arrive from Budapest, to make the crossfaders sweat. Sonnykraft will join Q-Cee and Dugó too, to host their “scratchers club” turntablist event for the first time ever in Pécs, at Nappali on saturday. But, let’s not skip ahead – on friday, a few local Djs will also bring their vinyl collections, such as Acid, Turner and Venom, known as the hosts of Soul on Wax.
